Absolutely love that Atmosphere and Tone throughout.Aggregate: Camerawork for cutscenes is quite fun // The ‘establishing Mario in contrast to Luigi’ scene was actually pretty good // The usage of King Boo as an actually villainous character works in contrast to the rest of the game. The variety and personality to the various bosses are quite fun and have good personality.Sound design really adds to atmosphere and the different ‘themes’ of each floor.Doodad placement and usage is fantastic and detailed (and destructible!).Animation and graphical style are very well done.Luigi is, as ever, just amazing in his presentation and portrayal. Those two steps made the game enjoyable from being plain terrible, and I hope that it will be the same for you other guys who still have to play it (or who want to give it another shot).

To use the patch, just download the file and run it, then give it the BioshockHD.exe path (this depends on where you installed the game, but Steam has an option to open the installation folder) and just close the window when it says "Executable successfully patched!". The magic is just in downloading this 4gb patch, which allows the game to run using more that 4gb RAM, a common limit imposed from the olde times developers, and which should definitely be removed in a remastered. That fixes it, but you won't be able to change your options from in-game anymore, unfortunately.īut now, the main course: fixing the crash-on-save which occurres sometimes! For this, I took inspiration from a similar problem described on "The Testament of Sherlock Holmes" Steam page (link below), to which the user "sergraz", without which I wouldn't be here right now, answered after years from the release giving a "fix" (which worked 100% for me at the time). Save your file, then right click on it, go to "Properties" and set the file as "Read-only" (there should be a checkbox to tick on the bottom of the window). Once opened, manually set the game options you like (the example below is for highest difficulty, no Adaptive Training and disabled Vita chambers):

Of course I started looking for solution, discovering that the mystery behind those problems hasn't been solved completely (as long as I know, at least), so I tried to do a bit of research myself to try and solve the matter.Īfter a bit of trial and error and a little testing, I think I managed to find a solution to everything (at least, the problems on my game seem gone, since now I can save without crashes and the options don't reset on restart), so I would like to give my solutions and the reason behind them.

Once I started playing, I immediately experienced on my skin all the terrible bugs that affect the title, starting from the settings that reset on restarting game (I am an Achievement hunter, so I was trying to play on highest difficulty and with no Vita chambers), right to the game that crashes while saving. Some days ago I decided to delve into Bioshock Remastered, since it has been in my Steam library for a while and I never played it before (I used to play the original years ago, so the Remastered was automatically added to my library but never opened).
